Hugh Nibley as a Social Critic

I meant to post this back in August. Sorry. In our the Mormon Matters podcast series, Russell Arben Fox, Randall Paul, and I sat down to talk with host Dan Wotherspoon about Hugh Nibley’s social criticism:

  1. Thanks for this. It’s great. Inspired me to go read his “Victoriosa Loquacitas.” I think he is too narrow in his definition: rhetoric = sophistry. For my money, sophistry is weenie rhetoric; whereas, Nibley is, himself, a badass rhetorician and yet fails to recognize the reality of the badass rhetor who eats Sophists for breakfast.
